San Domenico Palace

The Hotel San Domenico Palace was retrieved from an ancient Dominican convent of the fifteenth century which keeps intact its original structure, the San Domenico Palace was turned into a hotel in 1896 for the will of Prince Cerami, a descendant of Red Damiano, noble Catanese of the family of Rosso di Altavilla, who had it built and later on donated it together with all his possessions to the friars when embracing the monastic life. Since then the San Domenico became the monastery-most famous hotel in the world. An atmosphere of enchantment is breathed in the wide and white corridors which for nearly half a millennium have welcomed the soft steps of monks and have heard the psalms of the community. A charm that has attracted since its opening, Poets, Writers, Divas of the Cinema, Royal and Presidents that have filled with their dedications pages in the ancient Golden Book, jealously guarded.

The 105 rooms are host in two different wings: Ala Garden and Ala Grand Hotel.
Standard rooms are equipped with heating, air conditioning, telephone, hair dryer, minibar, color TV with satellite broadcasting, background radio.
Superior Rooms are decorated with typical Sicilian elements, the bathrooms are decorated with tiles typical of Caltagirone Suite Ala Garden: each suite is unique and exclusive. Furnished with valuable antique furniture. They are divided into two rooms and overlook the secular Mediterranean garden and the sea and are all equipped with a stereo. Some suites also have Jacuzzi.Rooms Deluxe Sea View: very spacious and elegantly furnished with a spectacular view of the sea and the Greek Theatre. All have a private terrace.
Executive Rooms Grand Hotel: spacious rooms with sea view balcony furnished with comfortable sofas. The rooms are also equipped with a stereo and 32-inch LCD TV.
Junior Suite: rooms with sea view very spacious of about 40 m2 with a sitting area and furnished private terrace. Equipped with stereo and TV LCD.
Grand Hotel Suite: divided into two rooms. The large terraces are comfortably furnished. Equipped with stereo and TV LCD.
Garden Room with a pool jacuzzi, this room offers the unique lush of a Mediterranean garden of a private and exclusive jacuzzi pool with a panoramic view of the bay and the Ancient Greek Theater. Equipped with stereo and TV LCD.
Garden Suite with pool Jacuzzi, set up to enhance the natural beauty of a private garden of 80 square meters overlooking the sea and privacy of terrace with a jacuzzi private pool. Equipped with stereo and TV LCD. .

The San Domenico Palace with 4 restaurants and two lounge bar: Les Bougainvilles (with panoramic terrace where you can enjoy typical Sicilian dishes and the famous "San Domenico Signature dishes") opened for breakfast and dinner from April until October.
Prince Cerami (awarded a Michelin star, offers a creative cuisine opened only at night from April to October, closed on Mondays).
Old Refectory (the Chef Massimo Mantarro proposes specialties traditions of international and regional cuisine, opened from November to March for breakfast, lunch and dinner) Garden of Lemons (poolside, typical Sicilian cuisine, fresh fish with daily variations and selected wines, opened only for lunch from April to October.)
Pool Bar (the pool bar) offers a wide range of regenerating drinks, milk shakes energy, ice cream, granite and a wide selection of tasty dishes. Opened every day from April to October. Lounge Oratorio dei Frati (Lounge of great charm located in the hall where was the old refectory of the Dominican friars, it is the ideal place to enjoy the cocktails and satisfy a sudden appetite even after midnight)
