Farm House Villa Cristina was born in the territory of the evocative nature reserve Fiume Ciane, just 4 km from the town of Syracuse and a few steps from the most beautiful beaches and cultural locations of eastern Sicily (Arenella, Ognina, Fontane Bianche, Plemmirio) . The farm is positioned along the channel called Mammaiabica, which runs parallel to the river Ciane almost to its mouth, part of the reserve shared with the wide area of the Saline. This is one of the most ancient worship reas of Sicily (linked to the Olympeion) and linked to the myth of Persephone, the nymph Ciane, in fact, who was turned into the river for having attempted to prevent the abduction of the goddess by Hades. Ciane is navigable with row boats that go up current of the river from its mouth on the Porto Grande, shared with Anapo and Mammaiabica channel.
