The Farm House Fontana Avena, is part of a biological farm of approximately 80 hectares planted mainly with olive groves, citrus groves, orchards, fichicondieti, berries (blueberries, raspberries, currants, blackberries and strawberries), vegetables and fodder, pasture and woods, located in front of the Aeolian Islands, dominating the old Tindari and bordering the Nebrodi Park and Park of the Etna. It is ideal for a vacation in contact with nature and the true flavors of the Sicilian land. The accommodation structure is composed of two completely independent structures (classification 5 stars) distant about 5 miles between them, the Villa Le Rocche ancient aristocratic villa of 1784, located on a hill 400 m above sea level, and the farm Fontanavena, ancient fortified farm, located at 300 meters above sea level, overlooking the valley of Tindari with the sea and the Lipari Islands in the background.

Location

The farm Fontana Avena, is located in the closest area to the sea and covers about 15 hectares in the valley of the mountains Timeto on the Nebrodi near Nebrodi Park. It takes the old name from the presence of a fountain from time immemorial. It is in a panoramic position overlooking the valley that opens onto the Thyrrenean sea and the Aeolian Islands. It is about 5 Km from the Villa Le Rocche, home of the farm house. The two structures are connected by old roads, very interesting for excursions immersed in nature. It is about 13 km from Patti. It is about 100 km from the airport of Catania.

Rooms

The rooms are in two stone farmhouses surrounded by a courtyard and an olive grove with beautiful olive trees. The farm is surrounded by a garden with flower beds, stone benches, tanks with various animal such as ducks, swans, goats and Tibetan sheeps. The rooms are equipped with color TV, some with air conditioning, all with central heating, private bathroom, and furnished with sought after furniture and with antiques belonging to the family room, all equipped with every comfort.

Amenities

In the garden with ponds and stone paths there are peacocks, pheasants, Tibetan goats and other animals. In the park there is a swimming pool with sun terrace, tennis court and soccer field, lighted riding, and a play area for small children. Activities proposed: pathways for ipotourism, trekking and excursions by bicycle or horse. Guided tours in the park Nebrodi and the Etna, Marinello and Tindari Lakes.
