Gigliotto Farm House

Gigliotto farm house is surrounded by green hills and stands on a wonderful rise hanging between time and space. The estate is a 300 hectares wide feud of fertile lands cultivated according to the peasant tradition. Gigliotto farm house, an old monastery dating back to 1300, develops around a Sicilian court-yard onto which 14 comfortable rooms and the wide dining room give. It is a place characterised by the magic combination of the typical fragrances and flavours of the Sicilian cuisine made with biological products and served with farm wine produced by Nero d'Avola grapes.

Location

This farm house is located in Piazza Armerina, in the heart of the land of the sun, and is about 100km from the airport of Catania.

Rooms

This farm house has 14 rooms (one of which equipped for disabled people): they are all welcoming and warm, furnished with Sicilian fittings, equipped with private bathroom, and have floors done in terracotta tiles.

Services&Amenities

Swimming pool with wide open air space equipped to sunbathe, horse-riding (courses, excursions and guided trips), trekking, daily room cleaning and linen change, bar, restaurant, parking for campers, caravans and tents, meeting and conference hall, wine and oil tasting, guide to the farm activities: grape, olive and Indian fig harvesting, threshing. The large meeting room can accommodate up to 150 people and is ideal for conferences, firm conventions and business meetings.

Restaurant

It is possible to enjoy the traditional and typical Sicilian cuisine in a wide and comfortable hall also equipped with bar. Meals include omelets, Sicilian cheese and cold meats and salami, roasted and barbecue meat, home made pasta. All dishes are seasoned with the olive oil produced in the olive mill of the farm and served with wine from Nero d'Avola grapes, that are cultivated in vineyard with low yield and harvested by hand. All the products come from regional biological cultivations. Breakfast is served with simple carefully chosen products, such as the home made jam and honey.
