Villa Rainò Farm House

Villa Rainò is located in a beautiful valley dominated by mount Marone. The landscape is characterized by a rich vegetation and a forest of oak trees and firs that make this valley beautiful, colourful and quiet. In summer and spring on can experience this beauty by the swimming pool, where this spectacular landscape is mirrored. A few meters away, a “turn around” rich in age-old trees is found and by closing one's eyes for a second one can feel to be part of a course with no present nor future but a continuous line between different ages but sharing the same sky and surrounded by the same nature.

Location

Villa Rainò is 4 km from Gangi, a small town originally founded by Cretans. Coming from Palermo, after covering the motorway towards Catania for 100km, take the junction to Tremmonzelli, which is 38km from Gangi. Coming from Catania, cover the motorway towards Palermo and take the junction to Mulinello.

Rooms

This villa kept its original structure and the rooms have women’s names. Elisabetta has a lovely view over the valley, Diletta is more romantic, Ursula....cannot be described. One needs to see them to find his favourite one. They all have heating and private bathroom. The real optional is offered in some spring mornings, when woodpeckers do their wake up service.

Restaurant

The restaurant offers traditional Sicilian dishes. A typical menu includes several appetizers going from the “caponata” (dish made with vegetables) to vegetables cooked with different recipes, to the “ricotta”, a typical farm house product. The main courses are characterised by natural flavours: eggplant rolls, risotto with pumpkin sauce and pasta with ricotta are just some of the several recipes. The second course is characterised by meat-based dishes, such as "stigliole", "castrato" and the sausage. And during the meals an excellent wine is drunk.
