Until March 31, 2010, the personal exhibition of Adalberto Abbate, one of the most appreciated artists of Palermo, will be visible at the Galleria di Arte Contemporanea Francesco Pantaleone de Palermo.
His exhibition, entitled "Rivolta", offers grey, black and white installations, micro-sculptures and photographies, in order to pass his message of rebellion.
The exhibition is freely visible on Thursdays from 04pm to 08pm.

On March 26, 2010, Umberto Giardinia, best known as Moltheni, one of the most interesting Indian singers in Italy, will perform on the stage of the Mercati Generali of Catania.
His music is characterized by rock and post-rock influences as well as by punk music.
Moltheni will visit the main cities of Italy for his new tour, entitled Ingrediente Novus.
The ticket price is €10.

The Associazione Giovani per Sant’Agata organizes in Sant'Agata Militello (Messina), for the initiative "Fai viaggiare la Cultura", its first 2010 event, under the title "Bookcrossing a Sant'Agata: Libera la cultura, non lasciarla nello scaffale".
The event will take place on March 26, from 09am to 08pm in a stand installed on the Vittorio Emanuele Place.
This is a "bookcrossing", an initiative that combines the love for reading to the love for sharing the knowledge, which will give the possibility to exchange one or several books with others, just letting your own books on the table and taking from the same place the same number of books.
A useful gadget for reading will be offered to all participants.

Consequence of the big audience success, the exhibition of the painter Maria Vinci, entitled "Il Respiro del Tempo", was extended until March 14, 2010, still within the Orto Botanico (Tepidarium) of Palermo.
The painter offers in her works an artistic interpretation of hundred-year-old trees, which are a precious natural world heritage.
The exhibition, organized in collaboration with the University of Palermo, the Ente Parco Madonie and the Azienda Forestale, will remain open each day from 09am to 05.30pm.

On March 12, 2010, at the Bier Garten, situated in viale Regione Siciliana, the AcquarioPalude will perform a tribute to Luciano Ligabue.
For the occasion, the band will play with the guitarists of the famous rockstar, Max Cottafavi and Mel Previte.

From May 21 to 23, 2010, the more important Sicilian event dedicated to childhood and future mums, the Bimbus Village, will take place in San Giovanni La Punta, in the province of Catania.
Within the spaces of the Commercial Park Le Zagare, various areas of exhibitions will be set up, in which the firms will be able to present their products. Numerous creative laboratories, baby-parking and play areas will also be present. Besides, plays, animations, shows and theater representations will be organized.

From March 29 to 31, 2010, the play entitled "The flight of Icarus" will be performed on the stage of the Libero Theater of Palermo.
The exhibition, written and directed by Daniela Nicosia, takes cover of the Greek mythology with the story of Daedalus and Icarus, and of the wings which, created by the same Daedalus, led to the dead of the foolhardy Icarus.
The exhibitions will take place at 05pm.

Theater > Palermo > March 20 and 21, 2010 > "Rifiuti Umani",parody of a documentary

On March 20 and 21, 2010, at 05.30 pm, the play "Rifiuti Umani" will be presented on the stage of the Agricantus Cultural Center of Palermo.
"Rifiuti Umani", written and directed by Michele Eynard, is a documentary, or best-told, a parody of a documentary that would happen in a dump.
A narrative voice explains the evolution of the problem as well as the origin of pollution, which have led to the current situation, analyzing individual daily comportments, which may seem insignificant, but which it is not.
3 actors are on stage, dressed with white clothes and singing ironical singings. They will interpret and mime in a comic way the concepts told by the narrative voice, using the objects collected in the dump.

From March 15 to 19, 2010, the exhibition entitled "Arthur and the Excalibur Sword" will be presented on the stage of the Libero Theater of Palermo.
The play, which is directed by Alice Capitanio, is taking place in the Kingdom of Camelot, at the end of the fifth century, and is directly inspired by the legend of the King Arthur, Merlin the wizard and the Sword of Excalibur.
All the exhibitions will begin at 05pm.

On March 16, 2010, the National Ballet of Georgia will perform on the stage of the Metropolitan Theater of Catania. They will dance on Georgian traditional music.
The company, one of the most famous and active in the world since 1945, was yet awarded with numerous and prestigious prizes, for its capacity and its merit to maintain alive the ballet important Georgian tradition.
The main strong points of the company are the agility of its dancers, the bravery in the couple dancings and the discipline and strictness of the preparation, which allow the Georgian Ballet to be almost perfect at each performance.

The aim of the exhibitions is to represent the fables on the funniest possible way, and to allow the youngest well understand them, removing the rhetorical devices.
The scenographies will be very simple, the protagonists will be the bodies and the voices of actors.

From March 4 to 14, 2010, the new theater show of Marisa Laurito, entitled "Show! Tutti insieme abbondantemente", will be performed at the Massimo Theater of Palermo.
The show, directed by Manuela Metri, with the music of Toni Esposito, is composed by old sketches of Marisa Laurito and by totally new sketches, which were created for this show.
With a rich and colored scenography, this is an entertaining show, especially thanks to her improvisations.

For the Celebration of the Patron Saint, celebrated on May 10, San Cataldo (Caltanissetta) will welcome from May 8 to 11, 2010, the arts and crafts fair, organized by the Artigiani Città di San Cataldo Association.
Within the exposition hall, various stands will be installed to exhibit the creations of the local artisans in order to promote the local arts to the visitors.
The fair will be accompanied by theater, musical and folk exhibitions.

On April 14, 2010, Mario Biondi will perform at the Metropolitan Theater of Catania, for the single Sicilian date of his 2010 tour entitled "Spazio Tempo Tour".
The artist will sing the compositions of his last album, "If", which is a great success since its launching in November 2009.

On April 6, 2010, the maestro Nicola Piovani will perform in Palermo for his Italian Tour.
His Concerto in Quintetto will take place at the auditorium of the Dante Theater. Piovani will play the piano, accompanied by 4 other musicians, and together they will perform pieces written for the cinema or theater, in a version that will emphasize the piano.

On February 20, 2010, the National Photographic Exhibition entitled "VII Biennale D'Arte Fotografica Le Gru 2010 – La fotografia di Nudo" was inaugurated in Valverde, province of Catania, within the spaces of the Fiaf-Le Gru Gallery, situated in the Corso Vittorio Emanuele.
The exhibition will remain open until tomorrow from 06pm to 08pm, and until March 19, every Friday, from 08pm to 09.30pm.
The exhibition catalog will be offered to all visitors.

From March 1 to 10, 2010, the show dedicated to families and children, entitled "Pippi & Chef", will be presented on the stage of the Libero Theater of Palermo.
The play, by Luca Mazzone but freely inspired by the story of Pippi Longstocking, will be represented twice a day, one at 05pm and the other at 07pm.
The show introduces the meeting of Chef, a famous chef, with Pippi Longstocking. Whereas Chef is preparing donuts, Fifi arrives jumping within the kitchen. Thus, talking about their common passion for food, the two protagonists begin an intense debate during which Pippi describes her world, her dreams and her life.

Recently the new tour of Fiorella Mannoia was announced; it is dedicated to her last album, "Ho imparato a sognare", which includes numerous songs of other Italian artists that the singer reinterprets with her amazing voice.
The tour will stop in Palermo on May 5, 2010 at the Golden Theater.
For the moment, tickets are not for sale yet.
Holy days > Caccamo > March 28, 2010 > U Signuruzzu a Cavaddu for the Palm Sunday

On March 28, 2010, Palm Sunday, the more ancient manifestation of the village, "U Signuruzzu a Cavaddu" will take place in Caccamo (province of Palermo), in order to remind the entry of Jesus into Jerusalem.
Organized by the San Giorgio Martire parish, the manifestation consists in a parade with an altar boy representing Jesus and who blesses the attendees.
Jesus is accompanied by the 12 apostles, 12 young boys bringing long branches, that form arcs under which is walking Jesus.
Jesus and the apostles follow other young people who move branches of olive trees and palms.
The parade goes by all the center of the village and concludes in the place of the Chiesa Madre.
