B&B Girosa

The Bed and breakfast Girosa is framed by an environment rich with traditions and culture. The art of the "cannatari" and the ceramics produced by them are the greatest attraction for tourists. The building is in the historic centre of Caltagirone and enjoys the view to a beautiful landscape. With a short walk you can visit the beautiful churches, monuments, museums, the mausoleum of Don Luigi Sturzo, the evocative Villa Comunale and admire the famous Scala Santa Maria del Monte which made Caltagirone UNESCO Heritage. The area where the building is located was originally the garden of the old monastery of Santo Stefano, inhabited by Franciscan nuns. In 1946 blacksmith Giuseppe Guerrera bought the land of the abbey and made it his family residence and workshop. The building hosting the rooms has been well restored preservinf the original architecture and offers comfortable rooms decorated with care.

Location

The bed and breakfast is located in Caltagirone the mountains Erei approximately 610 m above sea level in a territory that eventually encloses the hills of St. Giorgio and St. Francesco d'Assis. Caltagirone is a city of great cultural importance its town festivals are very well known,  among them it is worth noticing the one celebrated at the end of May, La Scala Infiorata (where the 142 steps of La Scala S. Maria del Monte are decorated) and simultaneously the Rusedda (Sicilian parade of floats and tractors).

Rooms

All rooms are elegantly furnished with private bathroom, daily linen change, television, refrigerator, telephone, hair dryer, heating and air conditioning systems, internet wi-fi. The premises are also accessible to the disabled as architectural barriers were torn down.
